If you're visiting New Orleans and want to be near the French Quarter, Jackson Square, and all the city's top attractions, this is the perfect place to stay. The location is unbeatable—right on Decatur Street, making it easy to explore the vibrant heart of NOLA on foot while still having quick access to taxis or rideshares to reach other parts of the city. Despite being in a lively area, the moment you step inside, it feels like a peaceful retreat. The hotel’s charming courtyard is a hidden gem, offering a quiet and relaxing escape from the bustling streets. My room was just what I needed—quiet, and refreshingly cool, the perfect way to unwind after a long day of music, culture, and great food. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always ready to make my stay comfortable. As a solo traveler, safety was a top priority for me, and I felt completely at ease throughout my stay. It’s rare to find a place that offers both convenience and tranquility, but this one strikes the perfect balance. Whether you're here for the history, nightlife, or just to soak in the city’s incredible atmosphere, this hotel makes the experience even better. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay in New Orleans!

Elysia was fabulous as she helped us greatly. We had to move out of our first room as the air didn’t work. Charles went above and beyond. Wish we would have listens to him about the parking across the street as the day of our stay our car was broken into during broad daylight. Passenger window broken and cat rifled through. NOLA police NEVER showed up. We Callled at 4:30 and waited til 5:30. Secured our car in the garage parking. Construction going on in the area our second room #416 was in. Not fun. Construction going on in pool area as well. Never told this would be going on.ALSO the phone never was connected in new room and only sheer white drapes. Very sheer and a cheap paper accordion blind that barely did anything . Very tacky remodel here . Wish we could have stayed in the room we selected. Disappointed but the location and staff are great!!

The location in the French Quarter is perfect and the quaint NOLO style of the property with the courtyard made this a great stay for us. It has wonderful personality. Everything in the FQ is walkable yet it is very quiet from street noise. We asked to overlook the courtyard where we enjoyed an evening glass of wine . There is great ambiance with fountains and a pool but sometimes hard to find a spot away from smokers. We requested a refrigerator as rooms do not come with them. The room was large, clean, and the service was very friendly. We enjoyed the good coffee from the in-room machine, the bed was comfortable, and AC was quite proficient! This is a unique boutique type hotel with lots of history. It is not a luxury hotel if that is what you are looking for. We loved it. We will definitely stay again!

The location is right across the Steamboat Natchez, you are 10 minutes on foot from each side of the French quarter. Absolutely perfect and far enough from the extremely loud busy part of the neighbourhood. Also, very close to tram stops and buses. Bathroom was spacious, I personally found the bed very comfortable. While you can't open the windows, the air-conditioned can be set from the room and worked perfectly. The staff was lovely. In particular, I was extremely lucky to check in with Deidra. Her presence in the hotel became a nice part of my staying in New Orleans. As a big extra: I loved staying in a place that has been an inn, historically, for two-hundred years.

Stay here. If you're visiting NOLA and want to be close to the French Qtr and Jackson Sq., etc., then you cannot beat The French Market Inn. Decatur is a main thoroughfare, but once inside, it's an oasis. The courtyard is wonderful and charming. The room as perfect - dark, quiet, cool - the perfect thing after a night of music, culture and fun. It's walkable to all the things you want in NOLA - and since Decatur is a main road, you can catch a taxi and easily get to other parts of the city without dealing with the crowds in the quarter. It sounds over the top, but this place is kind of perfect for all the things you want/need for your stay.
